Manual of Care of Critical Newborn
The high and static neonatal mortality has been the most
important deterrent factor in further lowering the infant mortality rate in our
country. Hence, the priority should be to look into measures to bring down the
neonatal mortality in order to bring down the high infant mortality.
The aim of this book is to provide a comprehensive and
clinical approach to diagnosis and management of the critically ill newborn
with emphasis on fundamentals. Although clinically oriented, due place has been
given to procedures of level III care with emphasis on rational management.
Besides the problems, the book also includes a detail
account of the procedures required for intensive care and a comprehensive list
of drug and dosage used in the newborn.
The contributors are experienced pediatricians with
inclination to Neonatology as well as Neonatologists of national repute.
This book is of fundamental utility for both undergraduate
and postgraduate students, residents, teachers and practising pediatricians.
