GN Prabhakara Is an Associate Dean, Professor and Head, Community Medicine, Professor and Head, Medical Education, Head, Medical Art Photography and Modelling at SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Manjushree Nagar, Sattur, Dharwad, Karnataka. He has over 35 years of teaching experience in teaching doctors, nurses, medical officers, child development officers, para medical workers, home science undergraduates and postgraduates, public health engineering post-graduates and district health authorities. He has served Central Government Medical Colleges till 1974 and later Karnataka State Government Medical Colleges till February 2004. Now he is at SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Dharwad since March 2004. He has to his credit 57 scientific papers which have been published in various medical journals and has authored over 15 textbooks including one National Document. He has served as Member of Curriculum Planning and Member of Board of Studies in State Health University.
