The author of this book, Dr Lalit Batra, is currently working as Consultant Psychiatrist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry, SMS Medical College, Jaipur. He has been teaching Psychiatry for more than twelve years to undergraduates and postgraduates. He has published several research and educative articles in reputed scientific journals, newspapers and magazines. Dr Batra has attended several national and international conferences. He won the P.B. Buckshy Award of Indian Psychiatric Society (North Zone) in 1991 and Marfatia Award of Indian Psychiatric Society in 1994 for the best scientific paper. He has served as Secretary of Indian Psychiatric Society (Rajasthan Branch) in year 2000-2003 and Indian Psychiatric Society (North Zone) in year 2002-2006. Currently he is North Zone representative to Indian Psychiatric Society and Convener of specialty section of “Rehabilitation Psychiatry” of Indian Psychiatric Society. He has authored two books entitled “Mansik Rog Aur Hum” and “Short Textbook of Psychiatry for Undergraduate Students”. This book “Mental Health for Nursing” is primarily aimed at nurses studying for the general as well as B.Sc. courses. It is intended to provide a broad theoretical background both for examinations and for practical work on the wards. This all in one textbook focuses on the subject in a simple and lucid manner. This book delivers a solid, easy to understand introduction to all aspects of mental health.
