Understanding Practical ECG

The graphic recording of electrical activity of heart still remains the first and foremost diagnostic investigation in cardiac disorders. This simple, economic and easily available bed-side/OPD facility still holds important place to support the diagnosis of cardiac ailment, despite availability of a number of invasive and non-invasive investigations. Sincere efforts to provide basics in understanding ECG, followed by discussion on altered pattern in different cardiac disorders. Language is simple, expression is clear and inference is made very easy to understand the art in reading an ECG, especially in certain situations where it can mimic or mask the other disease. The value of systematically reading the ECG has been stressed because all waves, segments and intervals are important. Understanding ECG would cut down certain drugs being needlessly given especially when arrhythmias are encountered. Hope, readers will find this book useful. Suggestions for improvement are welcomed.
