Manual of Neonatology

The Manual of Neonatology has been written to provide practical and useful information of various aspects of the care of the newborn for medical students, pediatric residents, neonatology fellows, pediatricians and neonatologists. It encompasses 29 chapters covering the gamut of common medical and surgical problems that are encountered in the neonate. The two appendices provide in-depth description of common neonatal procedures and medications useful in providing care to the sick newborn. The invited authors from India, USA and Canada are not only accomplished clinicians, but also have significant experience as researchers and teachers in the field of neonatology. It is written in a reader-friendly systematic style with an abundance of figures and tables to provide concise information. The Manual of Neonatology, while focused towards the Indian sub-continent context, provides state-of-the-art guidance with practical approaches to improve the outcome of newborns everywhere. Vineet Bhandari, MBBS, MD, DNB, DM, FAAP finished his medical school from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, and then went on to his pediatric and neonatology training from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. Subsequently, he finished a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine from the University of Connecticut, USA. He is board-certified in both by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is currently an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Yale University School of Medicine and an Attending Neonatologist at the Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital in the USA. He has authored over 175 book chapters, original research articles and abstracts. He has presented his research in many national and international conferences.
