ABOUT THE AUTHOR An alumnus of the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, Dr (Surgeon Commander) KC Sekhar served the Indian Navy for 22 years as a medical officer and anesthesiologist of which 6 years were onboard ships INS Jamuna, INS Mysore, the aircraft carrier INS Viraat and other vessels. He has seen action in Sri Lanka and served onboard several converted hospital ships INS Sandhayak and INS Tir during Naval exercises. He was deputed to Orissa in 1999 to render aid to victims of the super cyclone by the Apollo Hospital. He has a special interest in Disaster Management and Medicine.
